MapTrax now provides a 25% discount if you send in your old CD-Rom to do an update.... Sorry we won't do this for individual emailed charts. Please send us an e-mail at Sales@maptrax.com.au and we will let you know the procedure.
Visual Navigation Charts The VNC will help your plan your flight in relation to controlled airspace. It will also make the transition from the WAC to the VTC when operating around terminal areas. Additionally, the VNC will help you to navigate when nearing Controlled Airspace or Restricted or Danger areas. The VNC contains the following details: • topographical information at a scale of 1:500,000 • controlled airspace and Flight Information Area boundaries • VHF area frequencies for contacting ATS • MBZ and CTAF details • Designated Remote Area and Danger/Restricted Areas This chart is amended every 6 months
Visual Terminal Charts VTCs provide both aeronautical and topographical information at a scale of 1:250,000 for VFR operations in the vicinity of major aerodromes. In some cases, these charts show the details of tracks to be flown and significant landmarks which are used by pilots of VFR aircraft to avoid inadvertent penetration of controlled airspaces. Note: In addition to full topographical information, the VTCs also show the following details: • prohibited , restricted and danger areas within terminal areas • control zones and associated control areas lanes of entry ATC check points • VFR approach points - over which pilots should fly when making VFR entry to a primary control zone This chart is amended every 6 months
Enroute Charts - Low level The Enroute Chart (ERC) (L) is drawn to various scales to accommodate significant air traffic route areas and shows controlled airspace, prohibited, restricted and danger areas, air routes, ATS and radio-navigation services. Aeronautical information within Terminal areas may not be complete. Pilots should use a TAC or VTC. This chart is amended every 6 months.
Enroute Charts - High level The Enroute Chart (ERC) (H) is designed to provide selected information similar to that of the ERC (L) series and is primarily for use by aircraft operating on transcontinental and intercapital routes at FL200 and above. This chart is amended every 6 months.
World Aeronautical Charts These Australian charts are part of the ICAO 1:1,000,000 international series. Designed for pre-flight planning as well as pilotage, these charts are constructed using Lambert's conformal conic projection and conform to ICAO specifications. This chart is amended every 3-5 years.
Terminal Area Charts For use in terminal areas, these charts provide airspace, air-routes, prohibited, restricted and danger areas, navigation aids and radio frequencies. They are designed to display aeronautical information at a larger scale for easier use in congested areas. Scale varies for each chart. This chart is amended every 6 months.
Planning Chart Australia The Planning Chart Australia contains meteorological Area Forecast boundaries and locations, communication coverage outside controlled airspace and WAC coverage. This chart is amended every 6 months.
