We have updated all the Air Services charts, with the new charts effective from the 19th of November 2009.
We have changed the available map formats that the charts are now produced in, to make them more compatible with a wider range of products. The maps are now availabe as ECW, GeoTiff, Geo-PDF, and OziExplorer formats.
For those customers using Memory-Map Navigator, please use the GeoTiff charts. PLease note that Memory-Map will see the map as geographically calibrated map, but will not recognise the Lambert Conform Conical projection that the WAC, VNC, ERC & TAC charts are produced in. This will result in some navigational inaccuracy, especially in the large scale charts.
We have lifted the discount level for returning customers updating their charts to 40%
There are no new WAC chart updates with this release. VTC, VNC, TAC and ERC have all been updated.
MapTrax now provides a 40% discount if you send in your old CD-Rom to do an update.... Sorry we won't do this for individual emailed charts. Please send us an e-mail at Sales@maptrax.com.au and we will let you know the procedure.
Melway 2010 and Ballarat 2010 Maps Released
We have released 2010 versions of the Melways Street Mapping, as well as new 2010 Ballarat Street Mapping.
These are Melways Edition 37, and Ballarat Edition 1.
All mapping has come from the same source as the actual paper street directories.
We have updated the style of these maps from previous release, generating larger mosaic "seamless" maps in both ECW and Ozfx3 format only.
A change from previous versions at customer request, is a change to smaller mosaics, that eliminate and "black" areas from the image where no map was avalailable for the location. This will allow OziExplorer to automatically hunt for maps at other scales when you drive or fly into one of these areas.
We have as a bonus mosaiced the entire street directory into one large map for people who wish to see the entire area as one big map, we realise that this larger map may push the memory a little bit on PDA's and we would recommend running the smaller "cut-up" mosaics off of an SD or CF memory card instead.
The new Ballarat CD-Rom includes 1:20,000 scale street mapping for all of Ballarat, as well as 1:10,000 scale mapping for the Ballarat Central area. A large scale keymap, and Victoria map are also included.
Both Melways and Ballarat products include update name search databases for streets, suburbs and postcodes.

New Vicmap 1:25000 Topographic Maps - 2008 Release
The long awaited new release maps produced by Vicmap and MapTrax.
These new 1:25,000 scale maps cover the entire state of Victoria, and have been produced in 2008 from the latest data available to Vicmap. There are over 830 maps included in the 2 DVD set, in both ECW and OziExplorer (Ozfx3) formats. All maps are in the Vicgrid94 projection, and GDA94 datum.
We have now released the UTM Zone 54/55 set , which includes 3 DVD's with maps provided in ECW, GeoTiff and OziExplorer format. These UTM maps are appropriate for mapping systems which cannot interpret the VicGrid94 projection (Memor-Map, Fugawi etc)
Also include on the DVD is a state-wide mosaic created as an ECW file, this is quite a hefty file at 3.7 GB, so is not suitable for PDA use. These are a stunning set of maps that make a great companion to the Geoscience 1:250K DVD's or the Spatial Vision VicMapBook DVD

NSW / VIC Alpine Region DVD - 2008
With the release of current 1:25,000 scale maps for both NSW and VIC, MapTrax has compiled a new Alpine Region DVD to replace the out of date "Alpine Special Region Pack".
The new release contains over 120 maps ranging from 1:1 million scale right down to the latest 1:25,000 scale maps. All maps are in UTM projection, and are available on the DVD as ECW, JPEG with JGW, and Ozfx3, so almost any mapping software should load these maps.
